The basic step side to side is used together and also by the leaders when the followers go to lateral.
It has the same qualities as in the other basic steps – PROJECTION, CONTROL/SUSPENSION, GROUNDING.
In this step there are 3 main variations.
Variation 1:
Projection to the side. Control/suspension step on the spot collecting the feet together. Grounding step on the spot.
Variation 2:
Projection to the side. Control/suspension step diagonally forwards, keeping the inner thighs closed. Grounding step on the spot.
Variation 3:
Projection to the side. Control/suspension step behind you, keeping the inner thighs closed. Grounding step on the spot.
